Cleve Dunn, Jr. is deeply involved in addressing the civic and social issues facing Baton Rouge. He is a regular presence at Baton Rouge City Council meetings and the state legislature, advocating for resources for North Baton Rouge and other underserved communities. During the Great Flood of 2016, Cleve and his friends heroically saved the lives of countless residents in the Park Forest and Monticello areas by rescuing people from their flooded homes and transporting them to shelters.
A strong advocate for increased healthcare access in North Baton Rouge, Cleve played a pivotal role in the eventual opening of an Emergency Room in the area. He has been a vocal advocate for justice, particularly in the aftermath of Alton Sterling's tragic death at the hands of the Baton Rouge Police Department.
Recently, he founded the Baton Rouge Youth Aviation Experience, designed to educate students about career opportunities in the aviation industry. This program provides students with opportunities to participate in aviation-related conferences nationwide, offering mentoring sessions, career exposure, and networking opportunities with industry professionals. Cleve raises funds to cover all program costs, ensuring there are no out-of-pocket expenses for participating students.
